Accounts Payable Clerk

Location: Birmingham, AL area
Pay: $22–$24 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to manage daily AP functions and support overall accounting operations. This role will handle invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and month-end close activities while working closely with Purchasing, Receiving, Customer Service, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and perform three-way matching.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors and internal departments.
• Prepare weekly ACH, wire, and check payments.
• Maintain vendor records and payment terms.
• Prepare AP reconciliations and assist with month-end close.
• Provide documentation and support for audits.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and support internal controls.
• Respond to vendor and internal inquiries professionally.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable experience.
• Manufacturing AP experience preferred.
• ERP experience required; Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• High level of integrity and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay: $22–$24 per hour
